Claus Lembke was born in Nazi-occupied Poland, had a mother with Danish heritage, and he grew up farming with his father in West Germany. He later earned a degree in agriculture from Landwirschaft Schule and served in the German Army under the NATO Command. In 1960, Claus first met his uncle, Carl Hansen, who had immigrated to the United States in 1928 and owned a farm in Minnesota. Because of his interest in agriculture, Carl invited Claus to join the Hansen farming operation near Woverton, Minnesota, in 1965. This book is the story of Claus Koming to Amerika and the remarkable life he has made for himself in the decades since.
