In 1962, Chow Mo-wan, chief editor of a local Hong Kong daily newspaper, and Su Li-zhen, a secretary in an export firm, move into neighboring apartments on the same day. These two lonely people then discover a strong bond in each other, and recover the intimacy they have lost in their marriages.
