Enhanced descriptions from Syndetics:
Following the release of their 2017 debut, Californian rock outfit Movements took a few years to record a proper follow-up, taking inspiration from the various life changes that accompanied their mainstream breakthrough. Touching upon life, love, and mental health struggles, No Good Left to Give arrived in late 2020, a collection of urgent emo-rock confessionals cut with post-hardcore aggression. Packing an overwhelming amount of angst into a dozen tracks, the quartet balances the rousing ("Moonlight Lines") with the comforting ("Santiago Peak"), filling the space between with plenty of midtempo contemplation. With producer Will Yip once again behind the boards, No Good Left to Give pushed them higher up the Billboard 200 and landed them in the Alternative Albums Top Ten. ~ Neil Z. Yeung
