Enhanced descriptions from Syndetics:

Released in conjunction with a documentary film of the same name, Needtobreathe's seventh album, Into the Mystery, finds the faith-based South Carolina band crafting a gorgeously heartfelt, harmony-driven production. Recorded in a historic house in rural Tennessee, Into the Mystery is the group's second album since the departure of founding member Bo Rinehart. Consequently, lead singer Bear Rinehart again leads the band through a set of deeply passionate anthems that benefit from their rootsy instrumentation. He and the group frame his soulfully throaty vocals in an organic, textural mix of strings, organs, and twangy, country-tinged guitar lines. Cuts like "What I'm Here For," "Sunshine," and the ebullient title track nicely straddle the line between the earthy '70s rock of the Band and the stadium-sized pop of contemporary groups like Mumford and Sons and Kings of Leon. We also get several nicely curated guest appearances -- including Carrie Underwood on the uplifting "I Wanna Remember" and Switchfoot's Jon Foreman on the rambling "Carry Me" -- that complement Rinehart's warm charisma. Without losing any of their Christian rock convictions, Needtobreathe have made an album of transcendent beauty that still feels grounded in relatable, everyday emotions. ~ Matt Collar
