Enhanced descriptions from Syndetics:
In this rhyming picture book, a young boy carries a woven basket to go picking from the avocado farm. When his basket fills up, he happily heads back home until he feels the basket starts to shake on his arm. He sets it down and hears a chirping coming out of the bunch of avocados. To his great surprise, a baby avocado bird hatches from an avocado! The bird is bright, green, sleek, and has a huge beak. The avocado bird sits on his shoulder and the boy takes him home.
Guac, the Avocado Bird, is simply looking for a home. When he finally finds a suitable one, he claims it as his own. However, throughout the night, Guac is joined by many other outcasts seeking the very same thing. From cats to ferrets, Guac welcomes them all warmly and invites them to share in what he has found. By doing so, Guac quickly learns that sometimes home is simply where we have our friends.--Publisher.
