Enhanced descriptions from Syndetics:
A children's learn your colors book where a Muslim girl chooses what color hijab she'll wear today
Hijab is the crown I wear every day.
It is worn many ways,
and it comes in every color.
What color hijab should I choose today?
Yellow, like my doctor's hijab?
Brown, like my teacher's hijab?
Pink, like my mother's hijab?
Help me decide
About the Author: Hudda Ibrahim is an author, community advocate, and educator. Her closet is full of hijabs in different styles, patterns, and of course, colors Her first book, From Somalia to Snow , explores how central Minnesota became home to Somalis. Hudda hopes this book brings joy to the girls who wear hijabs and brings light to all of the people they meet.
A young girl considers the women she knows and the various colors of the hijab they wear. Muslim women have many varied jobs and wear their hijab as they work. She wants to be like them. The hijab becomes a crowning touch for her--a representation of faith, identity, and fashion.
