Enhanced descriptions from Syndetics:
Two brothers try to lead lost campers to safety in the fourth adventure of the Wilder Boys series.
The boys help out at a wilderness camp near Sequoia National Park, a day's drive south of the Sierras. The camp's main draw is a multi-day trek traversing woodlands, mountains, and desert during a team-based orientation competition that will take them to the edge of Death Valley. When Jake and Taylor's team counselor is badly hurt in a flash flood, they must galvanize the lost campers to find shelter, aid the injured counselor, and supplement their low supplies with what can be found around them.
At first, stumbling across a ghost town seems like a lucky break from the scorching heat of summer, but the town is already occupied by counterfeiters who are none too pleased about their operation being discovered. The boys must use all their resourcefulness and knowledge of the outdoors to protect their teammates from the criminals and the elements.
"The Wilder Boys are excited to be spending part of their summer at a wilderness camp. Jake is going to be working as an assistant counselor, and Taylor will be in his cabin. Along with the rest of their group, they'll spend two weeks honing their skills and learning to work together before a multiday trek traversing woodland, mountain, and desert terrain during a team-based competition. But no amount of training could have prepared them for what lay ahead. First, they're hit by a flash flood that sweeps them off course, taking most of their supplies with it and leaving their head counselor badly injured. And then--as the group tackles the challenge of searching for food, shelter, and aid in the brutal wilderness--they stumble across a ghost town being used as a hideout by a group of criminals, With temperatures and tensions rising, Jake and Taylor must rely on their own wits and the strengths of their teammates to get the group to safety."-- Provided by publisher.
