Disc 2. Anne leaves Green Gables and Gilbert Blythe's proposal of marriage for a teaching position. When she returns, she finds Gilbert ill with scarlet fever and is forced to re-evaluate her true feelings for him.
Disc 3. Now in her twenties, Anne returns home for the first time since Marilla's death. Gilbert is offered a position in New York and convinces Anne to go with him.
